Special Issue Information

Dear colleagues,

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer related deaths among men and women in USA. Significant advances have been made in the screening for lung cancer, diagnosis and treatment during the past decade. With reduction in the incidence of smoking the incidence of lung cancer among men has been decreasing in the US. In addition with early diagnosis, advances in the treatment has impacted overall survival. Minimally invasive techniques for diagnosis, staging and surgical resection has reduced the morbidity and mortality associated with these as well as targeted personalized approach guided by molecular markers is increasingly used. Even among patients with advanced disease innovative therapy appear to lead to a chronic course of this disease even in the advanced cancer stages. Multidisciplinary approach to the care is critical. In this special issue of the Journal we will address recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.

Proposed Topics:

1.   Lang cancer screening

2.   Establishing diagnosis

3.   Gender in epidemiology and outcomes

4.   Pathology and molecular markers

5.   Surgery in the diagnosis and treatment

6.   Radiation for limited and advance cancer

7.   Chemotherapy and immunotherapy

8.   Use of complementary and alternative medicine

9.   Supportive and palliative care

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online by submit system. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Original articles, case reports or comprehensive reviews are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. JOMH is an international peer-reviewed open access journal published by MRE Press. As of January 2021, JOMH will change to a monthly journal. Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is $2000. We normally offer a discount greater than 30% to all contributors invited by the Editor-in-Chief, Guest Editor (GE) and Editorial board member.
